Men's Volleyball Splits Non-Conference Multi-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The men's volleyball team split a multi-match on Saturday on the campus of York College. The Bloodhounds fell to Lancaster Bible College, 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 27-25), but bounced back to defeat Albertus Magnus College, 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-15). John Jay is now 6-5 on the season.

In the match against Lancaster Bible, sophomore Juan DeJesus recorded 12 kills, seven digs, a game-high five blocks, and a team-high two service aces. Senior Nicholas Anderson fell two digs shy of a double-double with a game-high 35 assists, five kills, eight digs, two blocks, and one ace. Senior Jack Palleschi registered 12 kills and six digs. Junior Francisco Miranda finished with nine kills and five digs and junior Carmelo Cintron had six digs.

In the win against Albertus Magnus College, Palleschi led John Jay with a team-high 10 kills, a team-high seven digs, three aces, and one block. Anderson dished out 29 assists to go along with four kills and four digs. DeJesus picked up nine kills and five digs. Cintron had four kills and a game-high four service aces. Sophomore Gary Wu and Brandon Dolores combined for 10 digs. Miranda had five kills and six digs.

John Jay totaled 71 kills, 71 assists, 16 aces, 11 blocks, and 71 digs for the day.

The Bloodhounds travel to Lehman College on Wednesday, March 2, for a conference match at 7:00 pm.
