John Jay opened the game with a 9-7 lead at the first media timeout. The Bloodhounds scored eight straight to hold a 17-7 advantage. With 10:45 left in the half, Mitchell cut the deficit to 21-14. John Jay followed on a 6-0 run to go up 13 with 9:03 on the clock. Mitchell ended the half on a 22-0 run to lead 36-27.
The guests scored the first 10 points of the second before Richardson made a layup and three-pointer and LaGuardia hit a jumper to cut the deficit to 46-34. Trailing by 14, Cruz-Fernandez sank a three and Levy and freshman

The Bloodhounds then went on an 8-0 run to tie the game 51-51 and a free-throw by Levy gave John Jay their first lead of the second half. The Mariners responded on a 5-0 run to go ahead by four. With 4:25 on the clock, Mitchell increased its lead to 62-56. Levy and Cruz-Fernandez drained two straight three-pointers to tie the score.

John Jay went 22-for-64 (34.4%) from the field, 7-for-29 (24.1%) from three, and 18-for-25 (72.0%) from the charity stripe.
The Bloodhounds open conference play on Saturday, December 2, when they host the College of Staten Island at 12:00 pm at the Doghouse.
