Women's Swim Cruises to 49-28 Win Over York on Senior Night; Bloodhounds Win 10 of 11 Events

RESULTS

The women's swim team defeated York College, 49-28, on Monday evening at the John Jay Pool. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-3 on the season and 2-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 0-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference. 

John Jay finished first in 10 of the 11 events. The Bloodhounds picked up the first seven points of the evening when freshmen Nicole Pang and Andrea Rojas, junior Tania Yanez, and sophomore Sol Astudillo swam the 200-yard medley relay in 2:43.22. 

Mavis Ma placed first in the 1000 free and 100 fly with times of 14:11.88 and 1:15.04, respectively. Freshman Alexi Achtyl picked up first-place honors in the 200 free (2:23.15) and 500 free (6:24.61). 

Freshman Nathalia Pietrantoni recorded a pair of victories in the 50 free (35.12) and 100-back (1:13.98). Senior Bokey Wong and junior Giovanna Jara won in the 100 breast (1:25.10) and 100 free (1:17.37), respectively. 

Before the match, the Athletics Department honored its four-year senior Bokey Wong, who swam in her final home collegiate meet. 

The Bloodhounds will travel to St. Joseph's College Long Island on Saturday, January 13, 2018, for a non-conference meet at 1:00 pm.
