New York, NY - The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its 2025-26 women's swimming and diving postseason awards All-Conference team on Thursday morning.
Â
John Jay's
Aydan Damirova and
Victoria Hapsis were each named to the all-conference team, while teammate
Luciana Uriarte was voted as the winner of the Sportsmanship Award. This marks the first time since 2023-24 that the Bloodhounds have had multiple All-Conference selections, as Cami Achury, Hapsis, Anna Moody, and
Miranda Perez each earned all-league honors.
Â
Baruch's Allyse Alexander was selected as the Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive season, while Hunter's Grace Valette was tabbed Rookie of the Year. Baruch's head coach, Charles Lampasso, was chosen as the Coach of the Year.
Uriarte becomes John Jay's sixth swimmer to win the Sportsmanship Award as the Bloodhounds go back-to-back, with Uriarte joining former teammate
Rina Yamamoto (2024-25) in winning the award. In all, Uriarte joins the list with the first-ever Sportsmanship Award winner, Nathalie Cuellar (2009-10) and former Bloodhounds Billie Jean Kuppler (2011-12), Kaylie Bruce (2015-16), and Mavis Ma (2018-19).
The trio produced four bronze medal finishes in the 400Y Medley Relay, 200Y Freestyle Relay, 200Y Medley Relay, and 400Y Freestyle Relay.
Individually, Damirova took home first-place honors in the 200Y Breaststroke and a pair of silver medals in the 200Y IM and 100Y Breaststroke. Hapsis concluded the season with a second-place finish in the 200Y Freestyle.
The Bloodhounds will wrap up the 2025-26 season this weekend as the team will compete at the Metropolitan Swim Championships, hosted at Rutgers University from February 13 through February 15.
