Bronx, NY - The John Jay women's cross country team placed fifth overall at the 2025 CUNYAC Cross Country Championships, held at the historic Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday.
The Bloodhounds tallied 110 points. Hunter took the team title, scoring 40 points. Medgar Evers edged out CCNY for second place, both teams scoring 68 points. Baruch (76), John Jay, and Brooklyn (157) rounded out the field.

Maria Belov led the way for the Bloodhounds, posting a time of 29:07.4 to placed 12th overall and earn All-Conference honors.

Skylah Nix finished among the top-20 with a time of 30:03.8.
Jennifer Herrera Vazquez placed 23rd overall with a time of 30:29.1 while newcomer
Alexa Guzman finished in 30:52.0.

Laisha Gomez and
Julia Murray finished the race with times of 32:57.7 and 32:58.3, respectively.
Kimberly Ramirez-Tepoz finished with a time of 33:39.3

Rounding out the performances for John Jay were
Elda Chavarria (34:51.9),
Shellbie Johnson (37:42.8), and
Litzy Hernandez (45:22.5).

Baruch's Paz Moran won the individual award with a time of 24:52.0 while Hunter took second and third, respectively, as Shannon Ferri and Mikaelle Cesar posted times of 25:09.7 and 25:58.4, respectively.
