Maria Belov Named CUNYAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

New York, NY - The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its weekly cross country award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Maria Belov of the John Jay women's cross country program was named this week's Runner of the Week after producing a stellar finish at the CUNYAC Duals held in Central Park last week.

The Brooklyn, NY native finished first overall with a time of 24:34.9 in the 5K meet. The time was Belov's best finish in a 5K race in her Bloodhound tenure. She trimmed off nearly four minutes from her previous best of 27:55.3, set at the Golden Eagle Invitational back on September 21, 2024.

Belov and the Bloodhounds will be back on the course on Saturday, October 11, as they compete at the NJIT Highlander Invitational in Newark, NJ at Branch Brook Park.
