John Jay College Celebrates 2025 Commencement

Brooklyn, NY - John Jay College of Criminal Justice held its Commencement on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn. The Bloodhounds had over 70 student-athletes presented with their degrees.

The 58th Commencement kicked off with opening words from John Jay College of Criminal Justice President Karol V. Mason, before turning the microphone over to the valedictorian, Jordan Becker.

President Mason introduced CUNY Chancellor Felix V. Matos Rodriguez, who conferred honorary degrees on two recipients: Jeff Aronson and Sherry Aronson.

President Mason along with Professor Shonna Trinch from the John Jay College Department of Anthropology, presented Donna Ferrato, an acclaimed photojournalist and activist, with an honorary degree.

The final presentation before the 2025 graduates got to walk across the stage was the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Presidential Medal. The medal, established in 2006, is awarded to an individual or organization that has
demonstrated leadership, contributions to the college, and a commitment to the principles of justice and equality. This year's recipient, and first under President Mason's tenure, was Jules B. Kroll, the executive chair and co-founder of the K2 Integrity.

The Athletics Department salutes the Class of 2025. Thank you to all the student-athletes for your hard work and dedication over the years.
