Women's Cross Country Participates In Jasper Fall XC Invitational On Saturday Morning

Montgomery, NY - The John Jay women's cross country team competed at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational on Saturday morning.

Overall, the Bloodhounds finished 16th out of 16 teams and fifth among the non-Division I programs that competed in the race.

Quinnipiac took the team title with a final score of 36, followed by Bucknell (43) and Marist (129). Seton Hall and Fairfield rounded out the top-five schools.
Bucknell's Shaelan McNally won the individual title with a time of 20:08.8.

Quinnipiac's Sierra Gray took second with a time of 20:26.8, while Fairfield's Hannah Snayd took third in 20:29.8

Leading the way for the Bloodhounds during the morning's race was Maria Belov, who turned in a time of 29:44.2, her best time in a 6K race.

Skylah Nix was next with a time of 30:26.5. Newcomer Alexa Guzman crossed the finish line in 30:34.4, in her first 6K race of her collegiate career.

Team captain Jennifer Herrera was next to finish with a time of 33:41.3, while Julia Murray checked in with a time of 33:50.1.

Newcomer Laisha Gomez (35:47.6), Kimberly Ramirez-Tepoz (36:33.6), Shellbie Johnson (37:15.2), and Elda Chavarria (37:51.5) rounded out the finishes for the Bloodhounds.

The Bloodhounds will compete in the first of two dual matches this season against their CUNYAC counterparts, CCNY.

The two schools will race against one another on September 16 at 7:30 a.m. at Central Park.
