New York, NY - The John Jay women's swimming team earned a 75-16 home triumph on Senior Night at the John Jay Pool.
Before the start of the meet, the Bloodhounds recognized its four seniors -
Kira Englenton,
Victoria Hapsis,
Julia Murray, and
Luciana Uriarte.
The Bloodhounds jumped out to a 15-0 lead after taking the 200Y Medley Relay, as the quartet of Hapsis,
Aydan Damirova, Uriarte, and
Brianna Torres touched the wall in 2:06.27, setting a new season-best in the process.
Grace Driver and Murray earned eight points in the 1000Y Freestyle, posting times of 14:46.95 and 15:08.83. The long-distance swimmers posted times of 7:23.74 and 7:25.63, respectively in the 500Y Freestyle.
Lehman got on the board as Liberty Almanzar finished first in the 200Y Freestyle while Giuliana Atencio lowered her time with a season-best 2:52.46.
Hapsis and Torres took first and second in the 50Y Freestyle, as Hapsis finished in 27.98 while Torres checked in at 28.85. Damirova added to John Jay's first-place finishes, as she posted a 2:37.53 in the 200Y IM.
Uriarte and
Nutsa Prangishvili went first and second in the 100Y Butterfly with times of 1:13.59 and 1:25.88. Torres and Atencio added eight more points in the 100Y Freestyle with times of 1:06.01 and 1:15.65.
Damirova and
Salem Williams continued the scoring for the Bloodhounds, as Damirova finished in 1:18.16 while Williams posted a time of 1:37.17.
The final race of the evening featured the 200Y Freestyle Relay team of Murray, Uriarte, Englenton, and Hapsis finishing in 1:54.29.
The Bloodhounds will compete at the SUNY-Delhi Winter Invite, on Saturday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m.
