Bronx, NY - Following a strong start to the 2026 CUNYAC Women's Swimming Championship on Friday afternoon, the John Jay women's swim team added five medals to the mantle on Saturday morning, as the Bloodhounds remain in third-place overall heading into the finale on Sunday morning.
Hunter remains in the lead with 178 points, followed by Baruch at 149, with the Bloodhounds rounding out the top three at 107. Brooklyn College (82) and Lehman (21).
John Jay opened Saturday's meet with a third-place showing in the 200Y Medley Relay, as the quartet of
Victoria Hapsis,
Aydan Damirova,
Luciana Uriarte, and
Brianna Torres took the podium for a second-straight day after turning in a finals time of 2:04.88, two seconds off Hunter's pace for second (2:02.88).
Hapsis secured a second-place finish in the 200Y Free, finishing with a season-best time of 2:12.34 in the event, coming in 1.08 off first-place, which went to Cara Chang of Hunter (2:11.76). Hapsis was three seconds shy of medaling in the 100Y Back, finishing in 1:11.01.
Damirova earned her second straight silver, this time in the 100Y Breast, as the first-year Bloodhound posted a time of 1:14.29.
In the final event of the day, the 800Y Freestyle Relay squad of Giuliana Atencio,
Julia Murray,
Nutsa Prangishvili, and
Grace Driver posted a finals time of 10:44.67.
Sunday's final competition, which is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start and will feature the following events:
- 1650 Free
- 200 Back
- 100 Free
- 200 Breast
- 200 Fly
- 400Y Freestyle Relay.
