Women’s Swimming Places First At SUNY Delhi Winter Invite

Delhi, NY - The John Jay women's swim team participated at the SUNY Delhi Winter Invite, where the Bloodhounds secured first-place honors with 413 points. Herkimer College tallied 109 points while the host Broncos posted 36 points.

The Bloodhounds took the 200Y Medley Relay as Victoria Hapsis, Aydan Damirova, Luciana Uriarte, and Brianna Torres clocked in at 2:07.78.

Grace Driver and Julia Murray finished second and third in the 1000Y Freestyle, posting times of 14:54.40 and 15:28.00, respectively.

Hapsis and Driver placed first and second, as Hapsis touched the wall in 33.83 while Driver turned in a time of 39.13. In the 50Y Breaststroke, Damirova set a new pool record, finishing in 34.01 and breaking the mark set by Marywood's Camila Gil of 35.26 (Oct. 25, 2025). Uriarte was next in 40.64.

The Bloodhounds' collected 31 points total in the 100Y Fly, with Uriarte clocking in at 1:17.54. Salem Williams posted a time of 1:29.88 while Giuliana Atencio finished in 1:46.11. Hapsis continued her strong performances, taking first in the 50Y Free, with a time of 28.21, while Torres was second in 28.88. She added a first-place finish in the 100Y Backstroke, finishing in 1:15.60. Torres secured a first-place finish in the 100Y Free, finishing in 1:04.61.

Kira Englenton led the way for the Bloodhounds in the 100Y Breaststroke, finishing in 1:39.12. Driver, Torres, Murray, and Hapsis competed in the 500Y Freestyle, with Driver taking second with a time of 7:16.31. Torres concluded the race in 7:18.68 while Murray (7:48.81) and Hapsis (swimming exhibition, 6:35.17) rounded out the field.

Damirova, Uriarte, and Williams each competed in the 50Y Fly, with Damirova posting a time of 30.90. Uriarte finished in 32.33 while Williams finished in 38.65. The quartet of Driver, Englenton, Williams, and Murray posted a time of 2:28.47 in the 200Y Freestyle Relay.

The Bloodhounds gear up for the 2026 CUNYAC Swimming Championships, held at Lehman College. The three-day championships commence on Friday, January 30 at 4:30 p.m.
