John Jay Athletics Announces Administrative Updates and Expanded Staff Roles

NEW YORK, NY — John Jay College of Criminal Justice Interim Director of Athletics Brandon Fieland announced several administrative updates and expanded staff roles within the Department of Athletics & Recreation ahead of the 2026-27 academic year.

The updates include expanded responsibilities for Hanan Alamry, Siddeeq Ali, Devon Donaldson, James Holmes, Justin Stewart, Chris Weeks, Jonathan Vasquez, and Austin Voges as the department continues to strengthen its internal operations, facilities management, recreation programming, student-athlete support, special events, and recruiting efforts.

"This restructuring represents an important step forward for the Athletics Department," said Fieland. "By aligning responsibilities with the strengths and experience of our staff, we are creating a more efficient and coordinated operation that will allow us to better serve our student-athletes, coaches, and the entire John Jay community."

Hanan Alamry will serve as Equipment & Operations Manager, expanding her responsibilities within the department's facilities and operations area. Alamry will help manage and organize athletics equipment while supporting the day-to-day operational needs of John Jay's varsity programs and athletic facilities.

Siddeeq Ali will serve as Business Manager & Transportation Coordinator. Ali joined John Jay Athletics in June 2023 and has played an integral role in the department's business operations. In his expanded capacity, he will continue to manage departmental business functions, oversee the credit card reconciliation process, and coordinate transportation logistics for John Jay's varsity athletic programs.

Devon Donaldson will serve as Assistant for Facilities & Operations, working within the department's facilities and operations unit. Donaldson will assist with the daily management and preparation of John Jay's athletic facilities while supporting practices, competitions, rentals, special events, and other departmental operational needs.

James Holmes will take on additional administrative responsibilities as Recreation Coordinator & Fitness Center Supervisor. Holmes will help oversee John Jay's recreation programming and the operation of the College's Fitness Center, with an emphasis on providing quality recreational and fitness opportunities to the John Jay community. Holmes will continue to serve as head coach of the John Jay men's basketball program while taking on his expanded recreation and fitness center responsibilities.

Justin Stewart will serve as Game Day & Facilities Operations Manager, expanding his responsibilities in coordinating John Jay's home athletic events and facilities. Stewart has been a longtime member of the John Jay Athletics staff and has overseen numerous aspects of game-day operations, including hiring and supervising student workers, coordinating with visiting teams and officials, managing venues, and overseeing competition-site operations. He has also served as a liaison between the department and outside venues, assisting with permits and game contracts.

Chris Weeks will serve as Alumni & Special Events Manager, strengthening the department's connection with former Bloodhound student-athletes while helping plan and execute alumni initiatives, department-wide special events, and engagement opportunities. Weeks brings extensive administrative and coaching experience to the position and will continue to serve as head coach of the John Jay men's soccer program.

Jonathan Vasquez will add Fitness Center Manager to his responsibilities with John Jay Athletics. Vasquez will assist with the daily management and operation of the Fitness Center, including facility oversight and creating a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for members of the John Jay community. He will continue to serve as the men's head volleyball coach.

Austin Voges enters his second year as Recruiting Coordinator, continuing to provide department-wide support for John Jay's student-athlete recruitment initiatives while also serving as the women's volleyball head coach. In this role, Voges works closely with coaches and athletics administrators to enhance recruiting operations and support the department's efforts to attract future Bloodhounds to John Jay College. He also serves as a liaison between the Athletics Department and the Office of Admissions.

The administrative updates further strengthen the organizational structure of the John Jay College Department of Athletics & Recreation as the Bloodhounds continue to enhance the student-athlete experience while expanding recreational, alumni, and campus engagement opportunities.

"We are excited about what lies ahead for John Jay Athletics," added Fieland. "This restructuring positions us to build upon the progress we have made, continue elevating the student-athlete experience, and create a stronger foundation for the future. Our focus remains on providing our student-athletes with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed in competition, in the classroom, and beyond."
