The women's swimming team is off to its best start in three years as the Bloodhounds improved to 2-0 (2-0 in CUNYAC) on the season. John Jay defeated Brooklyn College, 57-38, on Thursday evening at the John Jay Pool. The Bloodhounds last win over the Bulldogs came during the 2011-12 season. Brooklyn drops to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in CUNYAC.
The Bloodhounds finished with nine first place touches out of the 11 meets of the night. The Bulldogs held a steady lead for the first four races, until five first place finishes for the Bloodhounds put them up by six after the 100 yard Butterfly and from then on John Jay remained on top. Alyssa DeVito once again ended the night with two important first place finishes in the 1,000 yard Freestyle and the 500 yard Freestyle, finishing with times of 13:11.93 and 6:30.56 respectively. Freshman
Bokey Wong continues to lead the Bloodhounds with three first place touches for the second time in as many meets. In the 200 yard Individual Medley, Wong finished in 2:33.09, in the 100 yard Butterfly, she finished with a time of 1:09.50 and in the 100 yard Breaststroke, the Rego Park native finished in 1:17.36.

Kaylie Bruce and
Melissa Cornelio continue to dominate for John Jay as Bruce picked up two first place finishes and Cornelio picked up one first place finish for the night. The Bloodhounds closed out the win with a first place finish in the final event, the 200 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:00.47.
The Bloodhounds travel to New Rochelle on Saturday, November 15, for a tri-meet. John Jay will face the College of New Rochelle and Notre Dame of Maryland.
