The women's swimming team split on Saturday afternoon in a tri-meet in New Rochelle, NY. The Bloodhounds defeated the College of New Rochelle, 159-70, but then fell to Notre Dame of Maryland in a very close meet, 124-118. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Bloodhounds had six first place touches out of the the 14 events. Freshman
Bokey Wong continues her impressive finishes as she finished first in the 1,000 yard Freestyle in 13:27.71 and the 200 yard Butterfly with a time of 2:40.58. Wong also finished second in the 200 yard Breaststroke in 2:51.33. Freshman
Melissa Cornelio also tacked on another first place finish in the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 29.91.
Kaylie Bruce had a big day for the Bloodhounds as she finished first in the 200 yard Backstroke with a time of 2:48.20. Seconds behind the first place touch, Bruce finished second in the 100 yard Backstroke in 1:13.68. The Staten Island native also finished second in the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:49.20.
The Bloodhounds will travel to Morristown, NJ on Tuesday, November 18, for a meet against the College of Saint Elizabeth at 6pm.
