The women's swimming team picked up their first win of the season defeating York College, 116-45, on Monday evening in Jamaica, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 0-5 and 0-3 in the conference.
John Jay took the first event when the tandem of sophomore
Mavis Ma, junior
Diana Rodriguez, junior
Bokey Wong, and sophomore
Tania Yanez swam the 200 Medley Relay in a time of 2:45.78.
In the individual races, Romero, Rodriguez, and Ma recorded two first-place finishes. Romero competed in the 200 freestyle (3:14.28) and 400 freestyle (7:05.28). Rodriguez swam the 50 freestyle (36.96) and the 100 butterfly (1:38.30). Ma raced in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke and finished in 3:07.38 and 1:35.07, respectively. Yanez, Wong, and freshman
