John Jay Swims Past York For Second Victory Of The Season

Jamaica, NY - The John Jay women's swimming team earned their second win of the season and second CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) triumph, besting York College, 57-2, on Wednesday evening at the York College Natatorium.

With the victory, the Bloodhounds move to 2-1 on the season while the Cardinals fall to 0-4 and 0-3 in league meets.

The 200 Medley Relay A quartet, composed of Andreea Gheorghe, Miranda Perez, Cami Achury, and Victoria Hapsis, touched the wall in 2:33.61 while Luciana Uriarte, Gloria Glenn, Anna Moody, and Rina Yamamoto, finished the race in 2:56.43.

Julia Murray finished the 200 Freestyle in 2:48.99 while Grace Driver posted a finals time of 3:06.52.

In the 50 Free, Perez swam to a 30.39 time while Hapsis was next in 32.39. Uriarte clocked in with a time of 35.09 while York's Nakia Usher finished with a time of 1:48.24.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bloodhounds were Achury and Yamamoto in the 200 IM, with Achury turning in a time of 2:26.72 while Yamamoto finished in 2:36.76.

John Jay returns home on Friday, December 1, as they will swim off against Maritime at 6:00 p.m. from the John Jay Pool.
