New York, NY – The John Jay women's swimming team opened up their 2023-24 season with a home CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) against Hunter on Tuesday evening. The Bloodhounds were defeated by the Hawks, 61-32.
John Jay falls to 0-1 on the season while Hunter moves to 2-2 on the season.
In the first event of the night, the Bloodhounds secured a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Medley Relay as the quartet of
Cami Achury,
Miranda Perez,
Anna Moody and
Victoria Hapsis finished with a time of 2:05.95.
Individually, Perez touched the wall first in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.92. Moody secured her individual first-place honor, as she touched the wall in 1:26:07 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
In the final event of the event, the Bloodhounds finished first in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay as Achury/Perez/Moody/Hapsis turned in a finals time of 1:50.49.
John Jay is back in the pool on Friday, November 10, as they will take on Purchase at 6:00 p.m. from the John Jay Pool.
