New York, NY - The John Jay women's swim team secured a third straight win Friday night on the back of a 65-29 win over the Maritime College Privateers. The Bloodhounds never trailed in the meet after a handed win in the opening event in the John Jay College Pool.
The home team took an advantage of more than seven and a half seconds in the opener, the 200y medley relay. The Bloodhounds team of

Gloria Glenn,
Luciana Uriarte and
Rina Yamamoto clocked in first at 2:10.21 for seven points. John Jay's second team (
Andreea Gheorghe,
Miranda Perez,
Cami Achury and
Victoria Hapsis) finished in 2:38.20.
John Jay put the lone two competitors in the 1000y freestyle race, with
Grace Driver (15:27.60) taking first and five points and
Julia Murray (16:58.35) taking the three points in second.
Anna Moody made it three straight wins for the Bloodhounds with a first place finish (2:16.18) in the 200y freestyle.
Adriana Guzman clocked a time of 3:17.03.
Hapsis (28.11) and Yamamoto (31.90) took the 1-2 finish in the 50y freestyle race for a combined eight points as the meet rolled on.
Glenn (3:03.81) was the Bloodhounds' top finisher in the 200y IM, with Yamamoto rounding out the trio of swimmers with a 3:08.93 time.
John Jay collected four points in the 100y freestyle race with finishes from Uriarte (1:20.21) and Gheorghe (1:20.79) in the two and three slots.
Perez picked up the first win for the Bloodhounds in three events with a 1:00.88 time in the 100y freestyle. Guzman finished just outside the points with a 1:27.92 time.
Achury made it two straight with a dominant win in the 100y backstroke (1:18.59), winning by more than ten seconds.
Driver (7:31.66) and Murray (8:50.80) finished in that order again in the 500y freestyle, taking second and third.
Perez (1:16.28) and Glenn (1:32.77) closed out the individual races with a 1-2 finish in the 100y breaststroke. The Bloodhounds (Guzman, Moody, Achury, Hapsis) capped off the meet with a handed win in the 200y freestyle relay, finishing in 1:59.80.
NEXT UP: The Bloodhounds return to action in the first full week of December, traveling across town to face CUNYAC foe Baruch on Dec. 6 at 6:00 p.m.
