New York, NY - The John Jay women's swimming team saw their season-high three-meet win streak stopped on Wednesday evening, as the Bloodhounds fell to Baruch, 115-79.
John Jay now stands at 3-2 on the season and 2-2 in CUNYAC meets while Baruch remains undefeated at 7-0 and 2-0 in league meets.
Baruch secured 10 of the 11 events on the evening.
Miranda Perez secured the lone first-place finish for John Jay in the 50 Freestyle, as Perez touched the wall in 29.56.
She also competed in the 100 Breaststroke, finishing second with a time of 1:25.80.
Other notable performances from Wednesday's conference meet include:
- The 200 Medley Relay, consisting of Cami Achury, Perez, Anna Moody and Victoria Hapsis, posted a time of 2:20.82.
- Grace Driver posted a time of 13:21.70 in the 800 Freestyle.
- Moody placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:56.41 while taking second in the 400 Free with a time of 5:31.06.
- Achury and Andreea Gheorghe finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 Butterfly with times of 1:26.03 and 1:30.49, respectively.
- Hapsis posted a second-place finish in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:13.11.
- In the 100 Backstroke, Achury, Gheorghe and Katherine Sacgalindo finished second through fourth, as Achury touched the wall in 1:22.81. Gheorghe was next at 1:27.97 while Sacgalindo turned in a finals time at 2:02.41.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay quartet, made up of Luciana Uriarte, Gloria Glenn, Rina Yamamoto and Gheorghe posted a time of 2:24.24.
The Bloodhounds will close out 2023 on Tuesday, December 12, as they will travel to William Paterson at 6:00 p.m.
