Montgomery, NY - The cross country season for the John Jay men's and women's teams rolled on Saturday morning at Twin Ponds on the Farm. The Bloodhounds traveled to the Hudson Valley for Jasper Fall XC Invitational, hosted by Manhattan College.
The John Jay women placed 17th out of 19 total teams; landing sixth among eight non-Division I teams with an average 6k time of 31:25. Rookie Morgan Boyle was the Bloodhounds' top performer in her second collegiate meet; logging a 29:03.6 time. Eva Garcia was next across the line for John Jay with a 30:48.9, her best 6k finish in exactly one year. Jennifer Herrera rounded out the JJC top three with a 31:40.6 time.
The men's team also clocked in at 17th place in their run among 19 other teams, good for sixth among nine non-DI teams. This was the team's first 8k run of the season.
It was the freshman leading the way for the men as well, as first year runner Jack Treacher clocked in at 29:56.7. Just five seconds separated Joseph Valiente (33:38.2) and Alejandro Animas (33:43.1) as the Bloodhounds' next two finishers.
