Mahwah, NJ - The John Jay women's swimming team took their final regular season road trip on Saturday, as they swam against Ramapo and fellow CUNYAC member, Baruch.
The Bloodhounds fellow to the Roadrunners, 66-20, and the Bearcats, 58-28 as John Jay now stands at 4-6 overall while Ramapo moves to 3-5 and Baruch improves to 10-3.
Miranda Perez took second in the 50 Yard Freestyle, posting a time of 26.67. She also took third in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 59.03.
Cami Achury placed third in the 100 Yard Backstroke, clocking in with a time of 1:12.77.
Luciana Uriarte swam in the 100 Yard Butterfly while finishing with a time of 1:19.61.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Achury, Perez,
Anna Moody and
Victoria Hapsis posted a time of 2:07.05 to finish third in the event.
Other notable performances by the Bloodhounds on Saturday included:
- Grace Driver clocked in at 2:40.66 in the 200 Yard Freestyle while Rina Yamamoto posted a time of 2:55.33.
- Driver finished fifth in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 7:24.49 while Julia Murray rounded out the field in 8:17.60.
- Hapsis placed fourth overall in the 50 Yard Freestyle, with a time of 28.56 and fourth in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:03.28.
- Moody competed in the 400 Yard IM, where she touched the wall in 5:40.63.
- She also finished fourth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:30.34.
- Andreea Gheorghe rounded out the competitors in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:20.87 and also swam in the 100 Yard Backstroke, where she posted a time of 1:16.04.
- Yamamoto placed fifth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:36.53.
- The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay of Katherine Sacgalindo, Adriana Guzman, Gloria Glenn and Gheorghe posted a time of 2:20.81.
The Bloodhounds close out the 2023-24 regular season on Tuesday, January 23, as they will host Purchase on Senior Night.
