New York, NY - The John Jay women's swim team returned to the pool on Friday evening for their first home meet in over a month as the Bloodhounds swam against their CUNYAC counterparts, the Baruch College Bearcats.
John Jay fell 64-30 to Baruch at the John Jay Pool on Friday evening.
Senior
Miranda Perez took first in the 100y Breaststroke and posted a second-place finish in the 50y Freestyle, setting a new season-best time of 25.66.
Victoria Hapsis posted a pair of second-place finishes, clocking in at 2:15.96 in the 200y Freestyle, which surpassed her previous time of 2:20.11 against William Paterson three days ago. The Valley Stream, NY native posted a time of 1:01.53 in the 100y Freestyle.
As part of the 200y Freestyle Relay, Hapsis, Perez, joined by
Luciana Uriarte and
Rina Yamamoto, finished at 1:55.17, setting a new season-best.
Other notable performances from Friday's meet included:
- Gloria Glenn took third in the 200y IM with a time of 3:02.27.
- Yamamoto placed third in the 100y Butterfly with a time of 1:25.90.
- Uriarte touched the wall in 1:04.02 in the 100y Freestyle.
- Katherine Sacgalindo turned in a time of 1:39.82 in the 100y Backstroke.
- Julia Murray recorded a time of 7:44.03 in the 500y Freestyle
The Bloodhounds will return to the pool in 2025 when they host the United States Merchant Marine Academy and conference rival and defending league champions Hunter on Tuesday, January 7, at 6:00 p.m.
