Men's Cross Country Competes At Golden Eagle Invitational On Saturday

Bethpage, NY - In their third meet of the 2024 season, members of the John Jay College men's cross country team competed at the Golden Eagle Invitational, hosted by St. Joseph's University - Long Island on Saturday.

Newcomer Lakdar Layachi was the top finisher for the Bloodhounds, finishing with at 34:49.40.

Louis DeSario was next with a time of 37:05.8, which marked a season-best for the Northport, NY native.

Alejandro Animas and Evan Hernandez finished with times of 39:11.4 and 39:11.7, respectively.

Merchant Marine Academy took the team title, edging second-place Molloy, 72-73. Felician came in third (98).

USMMA's Luke Zweisler was the top finisher, crossing the finish line in 25:58.0. Felician's Daniel Chinchilla was next at 26:09.4 followed by Queens College's John Ray at 26:22.4. 

The Bloodhounds will be back on the course on Saturday, September 28, as they will race at the Fred Pavlich Invitational, hosted by Bard at Montgomery Place in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.

The men's race is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
