Michaela Lattimore Earns CUNYAC First Team Honors; Natalie Simonds Named To Sportsmanship Team

New York, NY - The 2025-26 CUNYAC women's basketball all-conference teams and major awards were announced on Thursday morning. The all-conference teams and major award winners are voted upon by the league's head coaches.
 



John Jay junior forward Michaela Lattimore was named to the First Team while senior guard Natalie Simonds earned a spot on the league's Sportsmanship Team.
 

Hunter's Alexa Charles was voted as the league's Player of the Year. Lehman's Isabela Araujo was selected as Rookie of the Year, while Brooklyn College's head coach Megan Campbell, was voted the Coach of the Year. Jennifer Metra of Medgar Evers was named the 2026 winner of the Sportsmanship Award.

Lattimore repeats as a First Team honoree following a breakout junior season. The Morristown, NJ native led the team in nearly all offensive categories, tallying 15.6 points per game, good for fourth in the conference, and pacing the CUNYAC with 14.8 rebounds per contest. The third-year forward shot a robust 48.5 percent from the field, good for fourth in the circuit while placing fourth in blocks per game at 1.5 a contest. In conference-only contests, Lattimore poured in 15.7 points per game while corralling 16.1 rebounds during league action, while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line. This season, Lattimore increased her productivity across the board, setting new career-highs in scoring, rebounds, assists (43), steals (40), and blocks (39). Following 12 double-doubles in 2024-25 and entering with 16 for her career, Lattimore averaged a double-double for the year, posting 23 on the season, and has registered a double-double in 20 consecutive games, as she posted a career-best 30 points and grabbed 22 rebounds in the semifinals against top-seed Brooklyn on Wednesday evening. She scored in double-figures in 24 of the 26 games she appeared in and had double-digit rebounds in 25 of those games.  On a national scale, Lattimore is second in the country in double-doubles, only trailing Mary Schieusner of Washington & Lee while ranking fourth in the country in defensive rebounds per game (10.5), sixth in total rebounds (385), and sixth in rebounds per game (14.8).

Simonds concludes her four-year tenure with the Bloodhounds with this league recognition. The Durham, NH native set new career-benchmarks in scoring (8.6 ppg), rebounding (4.8 rpg), assists (3.7 apg), steals (1.6 spg), and minutes played (28.8 mpg). This season, Simonds had 12 games in which she scored in double-figures, highlighted by a 24-point outing on Senior Day against CCNY (Feb. 14). The fourth-year point guard had ten games in which she distributed five or more assists, and dished out a season-high seven, thrice, the last coming against Baruch (Feb. 3). On Wednesday evening, in what turned out to be her final collegiate game, Simonds registered her first-career double-double, finishing with ten points and ten points against the top-seed Brooklyn College.
