Cambridge, MA - The John Jay rifle team concluded the 2026 MAC Rifle Championships, held at MIT, with a third-place performance in air rifle. 

The Bloodhounds shot 2266, finishing just 11 points behind MIT (2277). Mount Aloysius took home team honors with a total score of 2313. Senior Danny Canning and newcomer Mahek Diawala each finished the event at 578, followed by Cassidy Derosia at 555.  Allana Dan and JB Zhao rounded out the top-five shooters with a 554 and 552. 

Overall, the Bloodhounds finished with an aggregate score of 4283. Mount Aloysisus was tabbed the 2026 league champions, finishing the two-day competition with a score of 4558. MIT was next at 4454, followed by the University of Rhode Island at 4437. 

Rounding out the scores was Norwich University (4406), Schreiner University (4403) and the Bloodhounds.
