MEET RESULTSThe women's swim team recorded their first win of the season in their season opener, 50-35, against York College on Tuesday evening at the John Jay Pool. The Bloodhounds improve to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 0-2 on the year and 0-2 in the conference.Â
Heather Chrisman recorded two individual wins in her collegiate debut. The freshman placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.47) and the 100-yard breastsroke (1:13.93). Â
Christina Parthenis also registered two wins for John Jay. The sophomore finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle (16:08.78) and 500-yard freestyle (7:53.38). Sophomore
Bokey Wong collected two first places in the 50-yard freestyle (29:40) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:14.36).Â
Senior
Kaylie Bruce and freshman
Lin Wei Ma also recorded first place finishes. Bruce won the 200-yard IM and Ma won the 100-yard backstroke with times of 2:46.63 and 2:08.47, respectively. Â
The Bloodhounds also won both medley relays. The tandem of Ma, Chrisman, Bruce, and senior
Andrea Antoni finished first in the 200-yard in a time of 2:15.85. In the final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay, Antoni, freshman
Tania Yanez, Bruce, and Wong placed first with a time of 2:10.43.Â
Out of 11 events, John Jay collected first place finishes in 10 of them.
Interim head coach
Naomi Randolph collected her first win as a collegiate head coach.Â
The Bloodhounds travel to New Rochelle on Saturday, November 14, for non-conference meets against Notre Dame of Maryland University and the College of New Rochelle at 1:00 pm.Â
