New York, NY - The John Jay College Athletics Department is set to celebrate its second-ever Giving Challenge starting on Wednesday, April 16, and concluding on Wednesday, April 30. The challenge is geared towards raising support for the 200+ student-athletes and 15 Bloodhound athletic programs, in addition to Esports.

"The Athletics Giving Challenge embodies our commitment to excellence both on and off the field," said Interim Director of Athletics Brandon Fieland. "These funds support areas including training trips, state of the art equipment, team gear, and team travel. Every gift no matter the size, directly impacts our student-athletes in every facet of their Bloodhound experience."

The Giving Challenge is an initiative that embodies the spirit of philanthropy within the John Jay College community. It fosters a deep commitment to excellence and support that defines the Bloodhound athletics program. Contributions made as part of the challenge directly enhance the experience of John Jay student-athletes and allow teams to invest resources into areas of their programs that most impact student success.  
 
Because of the unwavering investment over the past decade, John Jay Athletics has transformed into a leading program in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC). In the last year, the program has captured championships in baseball, men's basketball, cheerleading, women's soccer, softball, and women's volleyball. Additionally, our esports program has continued to grow, engaging over 125 students in competitive video gaming.

Last April, the Bloodhound teams collected almost $24,000 with more than 500 donors. These gifts supported various team needs, including travel expenses, team gear, and equipment. 

John Jay Athletics is asking our supporters to once again support this Giving Challenge and help put our teams in the best position to be competitive as we strive for excellence.
