New York, NY - The John Jay Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated its 52nd Annual Awards Banquet on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Doghouse. The Department celebrated the achievements of the student-athletes during the 2024-25 season.

The program gave out over 65 awards, including Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, and Newcomer of the Year for each team.

The doors opened at 6:00 p.m. with a half-hour cocktail hour. The program kicked off a little after 6:30 p.m. as Interim Director of Athletics and Recreation Brandon Fieland addressed the crowd and recapped all of the accomplishments for the year.

The "voice" of the Bloodhounds, Jon Perez, was again given the honor of being the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

President Karol Mason then addressed the student-athletes, noting how impressed she was with their accomplishments on and off the field of play. The Department honored over 125 scholar-athletes, 32 four-year student-athletes, over 40 CUNYAC and conference all-stars, and various award winners.

Before dinner, the Athletics Department recognized the women's swimming team for their 3.608 team GPA, which was the highest in the Fall 2024 semester.

Presenting the 2024-2025 Rookie of the Year was Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs while Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Gerard Bryant announced the 2024-2025 Athlete of the Year.
