Keyshawn Miller Named CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

New York, NY - Following a 1-1 week in which the John Jay men's basketball team earned its first win under first-year head coach James Holmes, senior wing Keyshawn Miller was named CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

For Miller, this marks his third career Player of the Week accolade from the conference and first of the season.

The Yonkers, NY native was pivotal in John Jay's 1-1 week against Old Westbury and Greenville for the Bloodhounds' home opener. Miller averaged 36.6 minutes per contest over the two-game span, averaging 19.0 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.


Additionally, the senior wing tallied 5.0 rebounds per contest, dished out 6.5 assists, swiped 3.5 steals, and had 1.0 blocks per game against the Panthers.


At Old Westbury, Miller went for 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting. He distributed seven assists while recording three steals in 37 minutes of action.


In the home opener on Friday evening against Greenville, a team that came in averaging 115 points per contest, Miller held his ground, finishing with 17 points on an efficient 8 of 16 shooting while grabbing eight boards, dishing out six helpers, recording two blocks, and adding four steals in 36 minutes of work.


Miller and the rest of the Bloodhounds will gear up FDU-Florham, who pays a visit to The Doghouse on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m.
